Dullstroom will play host to the second Lekkerland Carnival on the 7th of April 2018. The quaint village became a popular destination for avid fly-fisherman in the 1980’s with its numerous trout dams and rolling hills often blanketed in mist. Over time Dullstroom grew in popularity to become a favoured country getaway for those wanting to not only fish but escape the city, only a couple of hours from Gauteng.
As tourism increased, so did visitor amenities and now there are two established accommodation booking agencies to help you plan your getaway. Dullstroom Reservations and Dullstroom Accommodation have every type of accommodation you could imagine on their books, and their friendly accommodation specialists will help you navigate all options according to your budget and needs.
For couples, families, or large groups – Dullstroom has many venue types on offer. There are a variety of self-catering cottages, B&B’s, guest houses and hotels both in the village and within a 10km radius. Choose between old-fashioned little stone cottages to luxury villas, a farm cottage off the beaten track or a village abode within walking distance of local pubs, shops, restaurants and of course, the festival grounds located on the central village green.
For those who wish to be pampered, there are exquisite five-star hotels and self-catering lodges (some with decadent spa’s) situated on the outskirts of town. There are also country estates where game roams freely, horse-riding trails are on offer and trout dams sparkle as far as the eye can see. Mountain bikers, hikers, runners and leisurely strollers will love the crisp air and the company of abundant birdlife and the odd farm animal or two.
With options to suit your pocket we highly recommend making a weekend of it. Their help, advice and booking service is completely free. As Dullstroom is often booked out to capacity, we suggest you book your accommodation sooner than later to avoid disappointment.
